Description of the Workshop

Lori's workshop is a fast paced, fun session that includes ideas and strategies for teaching reading/language arts and math. There is a focus on raising test scores and making learning fun. Teach basic skills creatively with the ideas in this workshop.

During this hands-on literature based workshop teachers will learn how to use everyday, inexpensive materials to make learning tools, center activities and games. Lori has unique ideas for reading/language arts and math using paper lunch bags, foam shapes, and stickers that will enhance what you are already using to teach.

• For those wanting graduate credit, Chapman University forms will be available at the workshop for 1 graduate non degree seeking credit per 5 hour workshop with an additional 15 hour practicum. Group Discount: For groups of 3 or more attending the same workshop from the same school, the registration fee is $169 per person.

Trainer About the Trainer

Lori McGill, a fantastic presenter, is great at making the teaching of basic skills as enjoyable as can be. She is creative, energizing and knows how to motivate students to stay on task.

Lori won her state's Educator of Excellence Award and the Margaret McNamara Reading Award. For the past 24 years she has been teaching in the elementary grades and presenting exciting teacher workshops on effective teaching strategies, literature, math and reading. This workshop showcases many of Lori's favorite creative ideas that teachers seem to love.
