Description of the Workshop

Reading and writing go hand-in-hand and in this workshop Greta will show you how to teach writing using good literature. She has an array of powerful, fun activities to get your students motivated to write in any area of the curriculum. The creative activities Greta uses in her exciting, fast paced workshops will help teachers reach writing goals and raise writing test scores while allowing students to have fun.

Some of Greta's fantastic activities include "House of Memories", "Creating a Writer's Notebook", "Pass a Story Activity", and "Mystery In a Medieval Castle". Teachers and students alike love these creative writing activities and Greta adds innovative ideas to teach writing strategies for all kinds of writing. The activities in this workshop are totally appropriate for all grades 3 to 8.

• For those wanting graduate credit, Chapman University forms will be available at the workshop for 1 graduate non degree seeking credit per 5 hour workshop with an additional 15 hour practicum. The registration fee is $179 per person.
Group Discount: For groups of 3 or more attending the same workshop from the same school, the registration fee is $169 per person.

Trainer About the Trainer

Greta Freeman, an aspiring writer and teacher, was a "Super Saturday" instructor teaching academically gifted students hands-on writing for five years. She was also a part of the Mountain Area Writing Project for teachers for two summers.

For the past ten years she has been presenting reading/writing workshops for third through eighth grade teachers across her state. Greta is now an outstanding national presenter for Educators Training Network. Her activities are intended for students of all ability levels in the grades mentioned above.
