Description of the Workshop

Change your students' attitude about math using math literature, math tricks, games that reinforce basic skills and activities that go above and beyond the textbook. Stop the cycle of learning and forgetting using math spiral reviews.

This workshop is specifically designed to raise test scores using a hands-on approach and a variety of activities that make math fun. Elaine will have you playing the games and doing the activities during the workshop. The activities include basic skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, mental math, geometry, graphing and data analysis, place value, and time and money depending on the grade level of the workshop.

• For those wanting graduate credit, Chapman University forms will be available at the workshop for 1 graduate non degree seeking credit per 5 hour workshop with an additional 15 hour practicum. Group Discount: For groups of 3 or more attending the same workshop from the same school, the registration fee is $169 per person.

Trainer About the Trainer

Elaine Haven has been presenting workshops since 1995 in reading/language arts, math, science, organization and brain based learning. She has taught all grades K-5 and is the training director at ETN.

In 1998 Elaine won the National Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics. She writes teacher activity books such as "100 Great Math Ideas," "100 Great Literacy Ideas", "Fantastic Math Activities" just to name a few. Elaine has presented over 350 workshops across the United States.
