Description of the Workshop

This workshop incorporates techniques and strategies to enhance the learning styles of all your students. The lessons are centered around flexible teaching methods to meet different learning needs. Varied formats including visual, auditory and hands-on activities are integrated with teacher directed lessons.

Josie's workshop centers around language arts, "The Five Essential Components of Reading Instruction", with integration to other content areas. Differentiated instruction and an activity based curriculum will be interwoven throughout this fun hands-on workshop.

Centers and fun reading activities to motivate students are included in this exciting reading workshop. Learn new strategies to use with your students. This is definitely a hands-on workshop and teachers will leave with ideas and materials to use the very next day.

• Certificates showing 5 hours of professional development will be given to all participants.
• For those wanting graduate credit, Chapman University forms will be available at the workshop for 1 graduate non degree seeking credit per 5 hour workshop with an additional 15 hour practicum. The registration fee is $179 per person.
Group Discount: For groups of 3 or more attending the same workshop from the same school, the registration fee is $169 per person.

Trainer About the Trainer

Josie Javens has been presenting workshops for the past 15 years. She is a powerful and creative presenter and was a lead demonstration teacher for 7 years. Her workshops are research based, fun for teachers and full of proven techniques and strategies that really work in the classroom in reading/language arts.

Josie's popular workshops incorporate all components of a balanced language arts program. Teachers come back again and again for one of Josie's many workshops.
