Description of the Workshop

Looking for a way to engage the different learning styles of your students? This workshop will provide you with the necessary tools for preparing and managing motivating standards based literacy centers. Your students will love the ideas and activities incorporated in this energy filled day.

Small group instruction is an excellent tool for helping students with essential reading skills. You will learn practical, hands-on strategies to help your students with decoding, vocabulary and comprehension. The three areas of differentiated instruction will also be incorporated.

• For those wanting graduate credit, Chapman University forms will be available at the workshop for 1 graduate non degree seeking credit per 5 hour workshop with an additional 15 hour practicum. The registration fee is $179 per person.
Group Discount: For groups of 3 or more attending the same workshop from the same school, the registration fee is $169 per person.

Trainer About the Trainer

Josie Javens has been presenting workshops for the past 15 years. She is a powerful and creative presenter and was a lead demonstration teacher for 7 years.

Her workshops are research based, fun for teachers and full of proven techniques and strategies that really work in the classroom in reading/language arts. Josie's popular workshops incorporate all components of a balanced language arts program. Teachers come back again and again for one of Josie's workshops.
