Description of the Workshop

The best way to teach math to young children is to use a hands-on approach and make it fun. Children that are actively involved with learning through concrete experiences will develop a greater understanding of math concepts.

This workshop is intended to build a strong math foundation with ideas and activities that will bring math into all areas of the curriculum including reading. From apples to zebras, there are wonderful ways to use inexpensive, easy to get manipulatives to teach alphabet letters and sounds, or science units and still be teaching basic math skills.

Teachers love this fantastic workshop and ask for more. Included in the Manipulative Magic resource book are topics such as: ABC Manipulatives, Connections with the NCTM Standards, Frog Fun and More Frog Fun, Hands-On Fun, Games and More Games, and Math Literature.

For those wanting graduate credit, Chapman University forms will be available at the workshop for 1 graduate non degree seeking credit per 5 hour workshop with an additional 15 hour practicum. The registration fee is $189 per person.
Group Discount: For groups of 3-4 attending the same workshop from the same school, the registration fee is $179 per person. For groups of 5 or more, the registration fee is $169 per person.
