The best way to teach math to young children is to use a hands-on approach and make it fun. Children that are actively involved with learning through concrete experiences will develop a greater understanding of math concepts.
This workshop is intended to build a strong math foundation with ideas and activities that will bring math into all areas of the curriculum including reading. From apples to zebras, there are wonderful ways to use inexpensive, easy to get manipulatives to teach alphabet letters and sounds, or science units and still be teaching basic math skills.

About the TrainerChristine Sowada, a top notch presenter, is a creative hands-on teacher who has been involved in education for over 26 years. As a teacher, school director, and tutor she knows how important it is to make learning fun for her students. She has been presenting outstanding teacher workshops for many years.
Christine also writes teacher activity books that focus on hands-on games, centers and fun activities to teach reading, math and science.
